ANHS 7’s Rugby. ANHS 7’s Rugby spanne het goed gevaar tydens hul toernooi by Hoër Volkskool en Hoërskool Hangklip.

O.15 sewes’s span

The under 15s and 17s sevens rugby teams participated in Hoër Volkskool’s sevens tournanent that was held in Graaff-Reinet. Die seuns het Vrydag hulle eerste wedstryd teen Grens gespeel maar verloor ongelukkig die wedstryd. Daarna het hulle die laaste wedstryd vir die dag teen Burgersdorp gespeel en die seuns wen met 35-12.

Saturday the boys played against Hoër Landbouskool Marlow. it was their first match of the day. The half time score was 12-7 but they unfortunately lost against a good Marlow team. The boys won their next matches against Bergsig and Spandau.

Die span het gevorder tot die semi -finaal teen Hoërskool Brandwag. Na ‘n baie harde wedstryd verloor die seuns 21-24.

O.17 sewes span

The boys struggled to find each other the first game against Bergsig. After losing their first game they noticed that if they dont play each and every game to the best of their abilities that it is going to be a hard and long tournament.

Die o.17 span wen drie van hul vyf wedstryde en speel een gelykop. Hulle speel ook teen Hoër Landbouskool Marlow en verloor die wedstryd 21-14. Na die harde wedstryd teen Marlow speel die span in die plaat-finaal teen Hoërskool Burgersdorp en verloor ongelukkig 19-14.

Both ANHS 7’s rugby teams did very well under extreme heat and windy conditions.

Hoërskool Hangklip

Op 16 en 17 September het die o.17 sewes rugby span deelgeneem aan Hoërskool Hangklip se sewes toernooi.

On Friday, the boys played against strong competition. Their first two matches were against Hangklip and Burgersdorp. They won both these matches by beating Hoërskool Hangklip 24-5 and Hoërskool Burgersdorp 31-21

On saturday they played against Queen’s College first team. The boys won the match 28-20 and they drew their final match of the pool stages 21- 21.The boys were undefeated in the pool stages and they therefore played against Hoërskool Grens in the Semi-Final.

Die manne verloor ongelukkig die Semi-Finaal teen Hoërskool Grens 19-28.

Throughout the tournament, the boys showed a lot of teamwork and the ability to never give up.
