Academic Pillar Celebration. Quadruple Honours: A Rare Achievement.
At the Boys’ College, earning Triple Honours is regarded as one of the highest distinctions a student can achieve. It symbolises excellence across three of the College’s pillars. To go beyond this and attain Quadruple Honours is to reach a level of accomplishment. It is almost unparalleled in the school’s history.
The last time this remarkable feat was achieved was in 2016, when the Head Boy Thomas Eichner earned Quadruple Honours. Now, nearly a decade later, Joshua Smith has joined this most exclusive group.
Joshua’s journey reflects exceptional balance, dedication, and determination. Excelling in Academics, Community Engagement, Sport (Hockey), and Culture (Music), he embodies the spirit of striving for personal growth while serving with purpose. Sustaining excellence across all four demanding areas required not only talent. But also resilience, self-discipline, and an unwavering commitment to embodying the College’s values.
As Vince Lombardi once said, “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.” Throughout his time at the Boys’ College, Joshua has embodied this pursuit—leading by example, serving the community, and inspiring those who follow.
St Stithians proudly recognises Joshua Smith as the recipient of Quadruple Honours. It is an extraordinary achievement not seen in nearly ten years. His success stands as a testament to his character, dedication, and the spirit of excellence that defines the Boys’ College.
