African Raptor Centre. The Grade 1 boys from St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, took a ‘flight into learning’ when visiting the newly established African Raptor Centre.
This interactive experience with birds of prey allowed the boys to connect what they had learned in the classroom to the real world. Walking around the enclosures provided the perfect setting for young minds to explore and ask questions. The boys were able to witness these incredible birds up close, observing their behaviours and understanding their vital role in our ecosystem.
A highlight of the trip was watching a jackal buzzard and wood owl in the flight show, as well as the feeding of the cape vultures. – Mrs Megan Hutton
