IEB examinations. Creston College’s consistent success in the IEB examinations is attributed to our highly experienced and passionate subject specialists who dedicate themselves to ensuring the achievement of goals.
This year, the matriculants once again achieved remarkable results. They boasted a 100% pass rate (IEB 98,45%), a 96,15% bachelor’s degree pass rate (IEB 88,59%). Furthermore they achieved a 100% qualification for tertiary studies – a truly outstanding accomplishment. Noteworthy achievements include 41 subject distinctions (1,57 subject distinctions per learner), with key subjects demonstrating excellent academic performance.
The top achievers for 2023 are:
Meriqè Pillay:
- 7 distinctions – A aggregate (90,7% average)
- Top 5% in IEB examinations in six or more subjects
- Rating level 7 in Life Orientation
- Top 1% in Life Sciences
Meriqè Pillay is Creston’s top achiever with an average of 90,7% in his IEB examinations. He also has demonstrated dedication and consistency throughout his 15 years at Creston College. In addition to academic excellence, Meriqè has excelled in various sports, achieving notable accomplishments in chess, athletics and hockey. As a leader, he served as deputy head boy, consistently securing academic top 10 positions. Meriqè’s achievements include being the dux approxime in Grade 7. Furthermore he ranked in the top 95 in South Africa for the Junior Maths Olympiad in Grade 9, and excelling in Conquestas. He also received ‘honours with tie’ as he achieved an impressive 92% aggregate in his Grade 12 year.
Dallin Naicker:
- 7 distinctions – A aggregate (85% average in his IEB examinations)
- Platinum Award for Conquesta Olympiad
- Ranked second in Grade 12 with a 91% average in his Grade 12 year.
Dallin Naicker, is a distinguished Grade 12 learner at Creston College. He has consistently excelled academically, earning numerous distinctions and accolades since primary school. Known for his respectful demeanour, he received the Platinum Award for the Conquesta Olympiad. He also served as an inspirational academic captain. As an SRC member and prefect, Dallin continued to showcase his positive attitude. In Grade 12, he maintained his exceptional performance, ranking second with a 91% average. This earned him ‘honours with tie’ recognition. Dallin’s future looks promising, with provisional acceptance to WITS. He aspirations to pursue Actuarial Sciences and international career opportunities. We eagerly anticipate his continued success.
