Cilliers van der Merwe, leerder van Hoërskool Bothaville, het ‘n derde plek behaal in die o.21 junior mans se “target sprint” kompetisie by die British Junior Internationals in Bisley. Sy tyd was 5:45. Hy was algeheel vierde van al die junior mans en dames.
Die “target sprint” behels 400m hardloop, skiet vyf skote na vyf ronde staal teikens wat 35mm groot is uit die staan posisie op 10m, hardloop weer 400m, skiet weer vyf skote en hardloop dan weer 400m.
Dit is die eerste keer watCilliers ooit aan ‘n “target sprint” kompetisie deelgeneem het.
Bisley
Cilliers van der Merwe, learner of Bothaville High School, achieved third place in the U21 junior men’s target sprint competition at the competition. His time was 5:45. He was fourth overall of all the junior men and ladies.
The target sprint involves 400m running, firing five shots at five round steel targets measuring 35mm from the standing position at 10m, running 400m again, firing five shots again and then running again 400m.
This is the first time Cilliers has ever participated in a “target sprint” competition.
