Craven Week Rugby.

PRG rugby players excelled at the Academy and Craven Week Rugby.

Christian de Villiers and Reuben Kruger both played for the WP at the U18 Academy week, held at Jeppe High School in Johannesburg. The team beat EP 48-42 and the Griffons 24-18, before losing 20-29 to the Lions on the final day.

Two WP teams played at the U18 Craven Week, held in George at Outeniqua Park.

The WP XV had a tough week losing to the Sharks 24-34, before a 14 -54 loss to the Free State. The team then going down narrowly to hosts SWD 27-26, with Samuel Badenhorst scoring a try and Leejay Petersen kicking three conversions. Nazer Isaacs also played for the WP XV.

The WP team, for whom Riley Norton, Oliver Reid, Zeke January and Ryan Jack played, opened their account with a 42-12 win against SWD. They then beat the Sharks 34-24 in a pulsating match. In the main match of the 2023 Craven Week, they won 29-5 against the Blue Bulls.

Riley Norton (SA Schools), Ryan Jack (SA Schools A) and Samuel Badenhorst (SA U18 Sevens) were also included in the various representative teams.
