Mini Tennistoernooi. Hoërskool Ermelo het vir die eerste keer ‘n Mini-Tennistoernooi aangebied om jong tennisspelers blootstelling te gee aan tenniswedstryde. Op Vrydag, 23 Junie, het die Erries ‘n heerlike oggend geniet saam met die 21 jong tennisspelers van Ermelo.
Die tennisbane is in mini-tennisbane opgedeel waar die leerders teen mekaar kon meeding. Elke wedstryd het onder die toesig van EHS- personeel plaasgevind wat die jongklomp leiding kon gee, sou dit nodig wees. Daar het ook ‘n gesellige atmosfeer geheers langs die bane. Die oupas en oumas het ook kom ondersteun en almal het heerlik saam gekuier.
Kian Gouws het as wenner uitgetree met Inge Prinsloo as die naaswenner. Amjee Mentz het ‘n derde plek behaal en haar boetie, Henmar Mentz, was die jongste deelnemer. Hy is slegs vyf jaar oud.
Tennis seëvier en gaan van krag tot krag by die Erries en EHS sien met groot opgewondenheid uit na die volgende EHS Mini-Tennistoernooi.
Mini Tennis Tournament
Ermelo High School hosted a Mini-Tennis Tournament for the first time to give young tennis players exposure to tennis matches. On Friday, 23 June, the Erries enjoyed a wonderful morning with the 21 young tennis players from Ermelo.
The tennis courts were divided into mini tennis courts where the learners could compete against each other. Each game took place under the supervision of EHS staff who could also give the youngster guidance, should it be necessary. A cosy atmosphere also reigned along the lanes. The grandfathers and grandmothers also came to support, and everyone had a wonderful time together.
Kian Gouws emerged as the winner with Inge Prinsloo as the runner-up. Amjee Mentz took third place and her brother, Henmar Mentz, was the youngest competitor. He is only five years old.
Tennis triumphs and goes from strength to strength at the Erries and EHS is also looking forward to the next EHS Mini-Tennis Tournament with great excitement.
