Every year, the South African Reserve Bank holds a competition for Economics learners. The learners have to analyse current economy data and then make a prediction. The decition has to get the Monetary Policy Committee to decide on the repo rate (interest rate) of the country.
Out of 102 offers in South Africa and after twice flying up and down to Johannesburg, these four learners’ presentation was chosen for third place. The girls are Laricha Craven, Zanke Nell, Lia du Plessis and Jacqueline Black. Jacqueline is also the governor of the team.
This is an incredible achievement! We are very proud of this team of Girls’ Highers.

Die Suid-Afrikaanse Reserwebank hou elke jaar ‘n kompetisie vir Ekonomie-leerders. Hierdie leerders moet die huidige ekonomie data ontleed. Hulle moet dan ‘n voorspelling maak wat die Monetêre Beleidskomitee kan laat besluit oor die repokoers (rentekoers) van die land.
Uit 102 aanbiedinge in Suid-Afrika en na twee keer se op en af vlieg na Johannesburg, is hiérdie vier leerders se aanbieding gekies vir die derde plek. Die vier meisies is Laricha Craven, Zanke Nell, Lia du Plessis en Jacqueline Swart. Jaqueline is ook die goewerneur van die span.
