schoolsthatrockKarate – Bethlehem Voortrekker High School learners participated in the Free State JKA (Japan Karate Association) Championships. It took place on 19 February. JKA, is the world’s largest and most prestigious organization. They are the only legal entity officially recognized by the Japanese government as an association of members for the promotion of karate.
The BHVS learners obtained the following achievements:
- Mia Ehlers – Bronze in Kata and Gold in Kumite
- Sean Huisamen: Kata – Bronze and Kumite – Silver
- Josh Bezuidenhout: Bronze in Kata and silver in Kumite
- Christiaan de Wet: Kata – Silver and Kumite – Gold.
