It is a custom to bless a building that is new, or to mark a new beginning with a blessing. For the start of this school year, Rev Thabethe will bless all of their buildings, praying for the wellbeing and wholeness of all who work, teach and learn at St Andrew’s. 2021 Is also the start of a NEW century for St Andrew’s – the school has made its home on this property for 100 years. This morning began with the blessing of the original homestead Bedford Court.
In anticipation of Founders’ Day which they celebrate on Friday, Mrs Acquisto prayed for the school past, present and future. These prayers will form part of the girls’ online Founders’ Day chapel services on Friday. Please watch the short video of this morning’s ceremony and look out for more photos and information in the days ahead. A whole-community celebration of Founders’ Day that will be streamed publicly will be scheduled later in Term 1.
