Outstanding karate news. Tristan Rix Shines on the International Stage.
Curro Durbanville High School proudly celebrates the achievements of Tristan Rix. He has made an exceptional start to the 2026 karate season. Tristan’s dedication, resilience, and skill have earned him selection to represent South Africa internationally.
- KACTU Elite Championships, Belhar (31 Jan): Bronze in Kata and Gold in Kumite, securing a place on the Unicity Regional Team.
- Western Cape Championships, Sunningdale (7 Feb): Despite competing with a bruised rib, Tristan claimed Bronze in Kata and Silver in Kumite, earning Provincial selection.
- KSA Nationals, Durban (20–22 March): In a display of courage, Tristan fought through a fractured wrist in his final bout, still securing Bronze in Kumite.
His outstanding performances have now earned him selection for the South African National Team. He will compete at the UFAK Region 5 Championships in Luanda, Angola (14–17 May 2026).
