2025 Schools’ Boat Race. 2025 SA Schools’ Boat Race report.
What an intense and unforgettable day of racing on the Kowie River. The St Andrew’s College First VIII were pushed to their limits in one of the toughest contests of the weekend. They fought with absolute commitment from the first stroke to the last.
After a fiercely contested race, the crew narrowly missed advancing to the B Final. Instead, they lined up in the C Final against King Edward VII School on Saturday. They delivered a determined performance to secure 6th place overall in the Junior Men’s event. Their grit, resilience, and competitive spirit truly embody the essence of College rowing.
A highlight of the weekend came from the reserves crew — a newly formed combination who had never raced together before. Rising to the occasion, they posted the 6th-fastest time of the day, an outstanding achievement that showcased their potential, teamwork, and composure under pressure. The three boys in the crew represented St Andrew’s College with pride and distinction.
“We extend our gratitude to the organisers, officials, and supporters who made this Boat Race weekend another memorable celebration of rowing.”
Congratulations to all competing crews for a day defined by strong performances and genuine sportsmanship — and to St Andrew’s College rowers for meeting the challenge with heart, honour, and unwavering determination.
