Paul Roos Cricket recognises the use of sport to bring positive life changes to young people. The vision and passion for this initiative is to inspire the wider community of Stellenbosch and provide opportunity to change their lives through the power of sport – especially cricket. We want to challenge children and young people to lead an active, healthy and rewarding lifestyle instead of succumbing the various other temptations.
This new initiative is a big step forward in providing opportunities to the talented junior cricketers of Stellenbosch. Paul Roos Gymnasium in conjunction with Boland Cricket and the Stellenbosch Hub are busy establishing u11 teams at the following schools: St Vincent , AF Louw and Ikaya Primary to play against each other and the best of those players form a team to play against other schools.
These sessions take place during school hours in the Life Orientation periods for 45 minutes. All of the above mentioned schools are instrumental in assisting us identifying players with talent to participate in the various organized matches.
