2026 Leader. Head of School Report – 2026.
“My name is Reuben van Aarde, and it’s my privilege to be Head of School for 2026. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as Head of School for 2026. I look forward to leading with the morals and values I have gained during my time at Saints. Furthermore, I want to serve our community with integrity and purpose.
I was born and raised in Kimberley and joined Saints as a hostel boy in Grade Eight. Even after my family moved to Bloemfontein in Grade Ten, I chose to remain in the hostel because of the unique experience it offers. Life in the Saints hostel is unlike the typical hostel environment. Here, younger boys are not subjected to abuse or peer pressure. Instead, older boys are encouraged to act as “big brothers,” guiding and supporting the younger ones through challenges—whether academic or personal.
Brotherhood at Saints
Brotherhood at Saints is not just a theme; it is a way of life. We look out for one another, for our brothers and our staff, and we depend on each other daily. This spirit of unity is one of the foundations of our school.
Equally important is our faith. Christianity is a pillar of life at Saints, and each morning begins in the Chapel, listening to the Word of God and singing His praise. For me, this is the best way to start the day—grounded in His presence.
My vision for St Andrew’s is to continue building a school where boys grow into men of God, equipped with the values and morals that will guide them to success in life. I believe that the lessons learned here—both in the classroom and in our daily fellowship—will shape us into leaders who live with purpose and faith.
Fiat Lux!
