Midstream College Rugby Stars Gear Up for VKB Week
Midstream College beams with pride as 12 of their dedicated rugby players earn selection to represent the Rooikatte. It will take place during the July holiday. This accomplishment reflects their tireless commitment, hours spent training, competing, and growing both on and off the field. More than just a sporting milestone, it showcases their athletic ability, resilience, and deep passion for the game.
Their destination? The highly anticipated VKB Week Rugby is taking place this year at Middelburg High School in Mpumalanga. It’s a venue buzzing with schoolboy rugby brilliance. It also plays host to the U18 Craven Week and U18 Academy Week- cementing its status as a stage for South Africa’s rising rugby stars.
But what exactly is VKB? Originally called Vrystaatse Koöperatiewe Beraad (Free State Cooperative Council), the name harks back to its roots in the Free State’s agricultural legacy. Over time, VKB evolved into one of South Africa’s leading agri-business brands – an emblem of growth, resilience, and community. Much like the rugby tournament that proudly carries its name.
May the boys embrace every minute of this journey, create lifelong memories, and find great success both individually and as a team.
Midstream College stands firmly behind you – go show the country what Rooikatte pride is all about!
