Tygerberg Eisteddfod Piano section. After two years’ absence, the Tygerberg Eisteddfod, Piano section, has resumed its live adjudications in 2022. The highest mark, 94%, was achieved by Albert Diedericks – a Grade 12 learner from Curro Durbanville.
The achievements are as follow:
- 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 (𝟵𝟬%): Joy Holcombe (90%); Hermann van Rooyen (90%) and Colby Styles (90%).
- 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 (𝟴𝟬%-𝟴𝟵%): Sun Woo (Grace) An (83%); Alexander Stam (80%); Julia Theron (80% and 80%, double entry); Colby Styles (81%, double entry); Quintin-Carl Hattingh (85%); Matthew Witbooy (84%); Maria Inggs (80%); Albert Diedericks (81%, double entry); Hermann van Rooyen (89%, double entry) and Phillip van Staden (82%).
A lot of these students take piano as an extra-mural activity, but their high-level of work ethic has enabled them to achieve those high results.
- 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝟳𝟬%-𝟳𝟵%): Sun Woo (Grace) An (74%, double entry); Caellum Olkers (70%); Alexander Stam (75%, double entry); Sarah van der Wolf (76%) and Amy Cloete (70%).
It was the first public performance for most of these students, but they have managed to deal with the stress of performing very maturely and have represented the school in a proud and musical manner.
