Tygerberg Eisteddfod – Curro Brackenfell won ten categories

Tygerberg Eisteddfod. In an outstanding showcase of talent and dedication, learners from Curro Brackenfell Primary have emerged triumphant at this year’s Tygerberg Eisteddfod, securing victory in  10 categories.

This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in the school’s cultural journey, as they have been participating in this internationally accredited eisteddfod for the past eight years since the school’s inception.

Cultural development

The Tygerberg Eisteddfod is an esteemed platform for nurturing cultural development, drawing thousands of aspiring young talents from across the Western Cape to compete in diverse categories such as writing, poetry, reading, music, choir, speech choirs, dance and public speaking. This year’s eisteddfod unfolded across various hosting schools in the Northern Suburbs during July and August 2023.

The Executive Head of Curro Brackenfell, JP Le Roux, expressed immense pride in the school’s cultural accomplishments, stating, “In our school, culture also plays a significant role in every child’s life, and we take great pride in nurturing their talents. With unwavering support from our dedicated management team, parents, and teachers, we continue to strive for cultural excellence.”
