St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, delivered a commanding performance to claim the Tuskers Switch SA20 Phase 1 title. The team defeated Hilton College by 8 wickets in emphatic fashion.
Dominance with the Ball
From the very first over, the First XI showcased unity and discipline. The bowling attack also worked seamlessly as a unit, suffocating Hilton’s batting lineup and restricting them to just 79/9 in 20 overs.
- Kaiyuran Naidoo was the standout, producing a superb 4-wicket haul that dismantled Hilton’s middle order.
- Every bowler chipped in, maintaining relentless pressure and ensuring Hilton never found momentum.
Authority with the Bat
The chase was nothing short of clinical.
- Openers Thando Zarma and Matthew Weightman stitched together a commanding 76-run partnership, effectively sealing the contest before Hilton could recover.
- Thando also led the charge with a fluent 46 runs, falling agonizingly short of the 1,000-run milestone for the season – a testament to his consistency and brilliance.
