Treverton College amidst the chaos of the COVID19 pandemic and embarked on a uniquely crafted X-Cursion Week, in and around their local campus, incorporating all forms of adventure that aimed to encourage teamwork, personal development, appreciation of the outdoors and all-round enjoyment.
The program ran over the full week keeping grades together but rotating them between the activities.
The Grade 11s were involved and integrated into the programme as part of their leadership skills training. The activities consisted of Orienteering, a High Ropes & Obstacle Course, 24-hour solitaire, a professionally guided trip down the Mooi River, Raft Building at the dam, involvement in the new Gardening Sustainability Project as well as a MultiSport Relay Race.
Students were exposed to new experiences such as the building of survival shelters, cooking on self-made stoves and camping out in the wild. Spirits were high in the lead up to this week full of adventure, which has always been a major part of the school’s unique offering.
