Top achievers. The headmaster is particular about which team or individual he invites to tea each week. It is to acknowledge their achievements in the various areas of school life.
One thing he insists on is that the idea is not to reward the top achievers in terms of sporting results each week. Significant achievements take many forms. Sometimes a team or boy does something good that is relatively low key, and that we should celebrate that too.
Sometimes, however, a team does something quite outstanding at a high level and they should be recognised for it. That was the case on Thursday. The U16A hockey team had tea and donuts in the Rowan Room with Mr Jackson.
They have yet to lose a game this year and last weekend they won the Alan Monk Top 10 tournament in as dominant a display as has been seen in the history of the competition.
