schoolsthatrockTop 12 Schools Hockey. Grey College U16A hockey side was crowned champions of the U16 Top 12 Schools Hockey Tournament hosted by Hoërskool Paarl Gimnasium.
They ended first in their pool with five victories and marched on to face Paul Roos Gymnasium in the semi-finals with a nail-biting finish to beat them 3-2 in shootouts after scoring a goal at the death to bring the game to 1-1. In the final, Grey College faced Garsfontein where they were also able to win the game 1-0.
Grey College congratulate GF Fourie who was awarded top goal scorer (5 goals) as well as Neilyandro Van Schalkwyk who was named player of the Top 12 Schools Hockey tournament.
Four players were also chosen to be part of the tournament team touring to the Netherlands/ Belgium in 2024.
They four players are:
- Gianni Tyropolis
- Waldo Konig
- GF Fourie
- Neilyandro Van Schalkwyk
