The World Knowledge Olympiad. St Andrew’s School for Girls, Bedfordview, learner excelled in the World Knowledge Olympiad. Ntsako Makato, Grade 8 learner finished 7th overall in the World Knowledge Olympiad!
The World Knowledge Olympiad is a longstanding National Olympiad for Grade 6 – 12 learners in South African schools.
The aim of the Olympiad is to test the general knowledge of learners from Grades 6 – 12. They encouraged them to access appropriate media sources to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. In so learners did develop 21st century skills such as curiosity, self-driven learning, personal initiative and global awareness.
The World Knowledge Olympiad provided an opportunity to challenge other schools as well as St Andrew’s School for Girls and learners to test their general knowledge against the rest of the country.
Grade 6 and 7 learners write the primary schools’ paper and Grades 8 – 12 write the secondary schools’ paper.
Each learner that participated in the World Knowledge Olympiad received a certificate.
Congratulations Ntsako Makato, St Andrew’s school for Girls are very proud of you!!
