Taheera Augousti. Let’s meet Taheera Augousti. She recently received a Free State Sports Award and a Board Medal for hockey. She is only in grade 11 and definitely a Rising Star!
- What is your nickname? Tafs
- When you’re not playing hockey, what do you like to do? Spend time with my family and friends.
- Which primary school did you attend? Eunice Primary School
- At what age did you start with your sport? I started hockey at the age of 5.
- Your highest achievement thus far? Being selected for the SA Women’s Senior Squad this year.
- Your biggest dream or ideal? To represent my country.
- What do you plan or think you want to do after Grade 12? After school I would like to move to the Netherlands and play hockey there, but still represent my country.
- Something nobody knows about you? I have a high pain tolerance.
- Favourite series or book currently? Money Heist
- If you could have one superpower… To be invisible.
- Favourite holiday destination? Cape Town and Dubai
- Message to a 9-year-old dreaming of becoming a sport star? Don’t ever give up and always just work hard. You will experience failure, but in order to succeed, you need to fail. No matter how young you are, don’t give up on your dreams.
- Your favourite teacher and subject? CAT and my favourite teacher is Mrs Botha.
- Your motto in life or biggest inspiration? Impossible is nothing.
- How do you find balance in your life? I find my balance in life with all the support and guidance from my parents.
