St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, hosted Hilton College on Colts Field on Saturday. In the early exchanges it was the Saints who had the better possession and drive, and this nearly paid off as striker Brayden Sampson headed against the cross-bar from a set move. Hilton started to get into the match and a well-worked move down the right hand side saw a very good finish from an acute angle. Hilton led 1-0 at half time.
It was St Charles College who once again started the second half the better team, and ten minutes in, Corey Smith side-footed in from close range. St Charles College were reduced to ten men when defender Njabulo Tenza received this second yellow card, as Saints pushed hard for the winner. Kevin Diaz had two chances from close range but could not find the net and the final whistle sounded with the score remaining 1-1.
