Nikita Bullah, a grade 11 pupil from St Andrew’s School for Girls in Bedfordview, entered an essay competition organised by The Royal Society of South Africa. Any full time scholar registered at a South African school could enter.
The learner had to choose 1 of the 3 given topics and write an essay of 1000 – 2000 words. Entries were judged by scientists in academia overseen by the competition convener.
Nikita chose the topic ‘Water is the new gold. What can science do to help South Africa preserve and maximise its water resources?’
She won 2nd prize.
Congratulations Nikita.
