My name is Georgia Catzavelos. I am the Head of Athlone House. I started at St Andrew’s in Grade 0. I would say my fondest memory at St Andrew’s is one which is continually repeated. For me, there is nothing better than the first day back to term after a long holiday. It is the joy that comes with seeing your friends for the first time in over a month, and hearing the distinct chatter and laughing which fills the corridors. For a moment or so, you begin to feel untouchable – as though there is no place you would rather be. Knowing that this is the last year I’ll experience that sort of serenity, brings me great sadness; and it is a feeling I will miss dearly next year. However, I will cherish the memories it holds in my heart forever. I am most grateful to St Andrew’s because it is where I have met the most amazing group of girls who have stood by me through thick and thin. The girls I have experienced school with have taught me the true values of community and no words could express how grateful I am to have gone through high school with the most wonderful and inspiring group of girls. They have brought a smile to my face every day, and made me forget about all the other external stresses and pressures of life. For the younger girls at St Andrew’s, I would suggest living each day in the moment, and not taking anything for granted. School, and especially high school, is a stressful place; and if there’s anything I’ve learnt, it is that sometimes it’s okay to let yourself relax, and not constantly push yourself too much – because school is about learning and growing, and allowing yourself the space to make mistakes and become a better person. After leaving St Andrew’s, I plan on studying a politics, philosophy and economics degree, while still traveling whenever I can. #ClassOf2020 #AndreanPride
