My name is Ishika Govan. I am in Athlone Grade 12. I started at St Andrew’s in Grade 8. My fondest memory is meeting the most amazing, generous and supporting girls. Interhouse music competitions were also a highlight for me — the comradery within Athlone to sing the best as a choir allowed me to become more outgoing and feel welcome. The greatest skill I learnt from St Andrew’s is becoming more aware about social issues and how to stand in solidarity with others in order to fight against social injustices. My advice to the younger girls at St Andrew’s is that you should seize the opportunities that arise within the school; and participate in as many Interhouse events, after school activities and school trips/camps. After school, I would like to study Biochemistry/ Pharmacology.
