My name is Lesedi Dickson. I am in Farrar Grade 12. I started at St Andrew’s in Grade 8. One of my fondest memories is when I first came to the school in 2016 for my grade 8 year and a girl saw me sitting alone, so she invited me to sit with her and her friends during break time. She is now my closest friend. A more recent one is when the school had a moment of silence in honour of the Black Lives Matter movement. It was very beautiful. St Andrew’s has taught me to always be respectful and to show kindness to a person, no matter who they are, because you just never know what someone might be going through. It has also taught me a lot about the word of the Lord during Chapel services. Words of advice I would give the younger girls at St Andrew’s: Just do it. Do everything, don’t let anything hold you back. If you want to try a certain sport, do it. If you want to try marimba or any cultural activity, do it. Or else you’ll spend the rest of your high school career regretting not trying it out. After school, I would like to study Aviation. I have other options but becoming a pilot is first on the list.
