My name is Shaylynn Pillay. I am in Selborne Grade 12, and I started at St Andrew’s in Grade 8. My fondest memory at St Andrew’s was my first day at the school. It’s not so much the incident, but the reaction, that I recall fondly. I walked into a glass door and was really embarrassed. But instead of ridiculing and teasing me, the other girls were really kind and caring. I realized in that moment that it was a special school, as people genuinely cared for me. St Andrew’s has taught me discipline and independence. The school allowed me to approach challenges with confidence and positivism.
