My name is Alessia Surmon, and I am in Milner Grade 12. I started at St Andrew’s in Grade 0. My fondest memories at St Andrew’s include participating in the Interhouse events, as they allowed me to try new activities that I would never have tried before; and they were also the most fun-filled days. Another favourite memory of mine is playing hockey for the school as I have made some of the best memories and friendships through my sport. One thing that I have learnt from St Andrew’s is to always try new things and to step out of my comfort zone. My advice to the younger grades would be to try new things even though they may be out of your comfort zone, as it can lead to some of the best memories ever. When I leave St Andrew’s, I plan on studying further and earning my degree in biokinetics and sport sciences, and also to continue playing hockey as it is one of my biggest passions.
