Schools That Rock (Pty) Ltd has developed a website for schools in South Africa which was launched in March 2015. Since then, the website established itself as the most popular and biggest communication medium for schools in South Africa by sharing their news to the world out there.
Sports Awards. Hilton College presented Sport Awards to the boys who excelled in sport during 2024.
Matthew Wilson was awarded the Paddler of the year trophy. This is awarded to a boy who not only upholds the spirit of the Kayak Club, but who actively competes and gives of his best at all times on the water.
Basket ball
Connor Thomson awarded for the Basketball 1st Team Most Valuable Player award. Mpande Myeza was awarded for the 1st Team Basketball trophy in recognition of being the best up and coming basketball player for 2024.The 2024 school squash champion, Grant Bridgeford, and to runner-up, Oscar Steiner.The Geyser Family Trophy for Golf Sportsmanship was awarded to Daniel Lyon. This is awarded to a boy who shows true golf sportsmanship on and off the course whilst upholding the name of Hilton. The Gordon Grieve Award was donated to Hilton College by Stuart following the death of his father, Gordon, a passionate golf enthusiast. In tribute to his father, Stuart made a donation to the school, along with a trophy and a green jacket. The award is presented annually to the student who is the match play champion for the year. This year the Gordon Grieve trophy is awarded to Byron Chandler.
Rugby and water polo
Guy Fender received the Tony Richter “Living the Dream” Award. This is awarded to the most valuable U16 rugby player who has demonstrated the greatest promise during the season. The award is given in memory of Mr Tony Richter who epitomized commitment and passion to Hilton College. Meyer Malherbe was awarded The Haddon Trophy for the most dedication to water polo as well as the Truter Brothers Water Polo Trophy for the Most Valuable Player.Hanu Pieterse was awarded the Dyer Floating Trophy for Most Valuable Member of the 1st XV as voted by the players. Hockey awards for outstanding performance during 2024. Murray Loughor-Clarke was named Most Valuable Player.

Hockey awards for outstanding performance during 2024. Jarred Kitto, Most Innovative Player; Tino Hove the Sesquicentennial Trophy and Masud Dakile Most Improved Player.The Maltby Most Valuable Player Cup for tennis was awarded to Jarred Maltby and Didier Rey. Khazimla Makali was awarded the Matthew MacDonald Memorial Trophy. Matthew tragically passed away following a long battle with Leukaemia at age 31. He was a passionate Hiltonian and a talented rugby player who in his grade 11 year represented the 1st XV in every match played. Unfortunately, an injury prevented him from playing rugby in his matric year. The MacDonald family commissioned a trophy in Matthew’s memory. The trophy, which was donated to the rugby club, is awarded at the end of each season to the grade 11 player who has also earned the most caps for the 1st XV. Ben Ferguson received the Ambassador Award. The Ambassador Award is awarded to boys who demonstrate kindness, honesty and model his school’s values. “Well done, Ben, on being a true role model, especially to the grade 8s during your year as their dormitory leader. Your leadership and positive example have also made a lasting impact on those around you!”
Hockey
Stewart Falconer was awarded the Pat Forsyth-Thompson Sportsman’s Award for best 1st team Cricket and Rugby player for 2024. Mitchel Garreau was awarded the Ferris Trophy for the Best Swimmer as well as Water Polo Player. The First Aider of the Year Award was awarded to Sixolile Nyangiwe. Six qualified in first aid at the end of his Grade 9 year and has consistently demonstrated a strong willingness to help as well as go the extra mile. He has been especially supportive of the junior students, offering assistance whenever possible. Six assisted at almost all the home games. He has also provided strapping assistance when needed, having completed the strapping course as well.
