Grantleigh Schools is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of one of its brightest stars, Lekai Chen, has qualified for the Final Round of the South African Mathematics Olympiad (SAMO) 2025. This is a testament to his exceptional talent and dedication.

A National Stage for Mathematical Excellence The South African Mathematics Olympiad is hosted annually by the South African Mathematics Foundation. This is the country’s most prestigious mathematics competition. It draws participation from thousands of learners across South Africa, all vying for a place among the top mathematical minds. The competition is known for its challenging problems that test logical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and mathematical creativity.

A Journey of Dedication

After successfully navigating the demanding first round, Lekai advanced to the second round held on 11 May 2025, where he competed against some of the most talented learners in the country. His outstanding performance also earned him a coveted spot among the Top 100 learners nationwide, securing his place in the final round of the Olympiad.

A Beacon of Academic Excellence. Lekai’s achievement is not only a personal milestone but also a proud moment for the entire Grantleigh community.
