schoolsthatrockSkaak Arbiterskursus. Otto van Schalkwyk, ‘n graad 11 leerder verbonde aan Hoërskool Ermelo, het in Oktober `n Skaak Arbiterskursus afgelê. Otto het nou die titel “Tournament Supervisor” gekry.
Hierdie is ‘n Nasionaal erkende kwalifikasie wat deur CHESSA (Chess South Africa) uitgereik word. Otto mag dus tydens Nasionale skaaktoernooie as skeidsregter optree. Hy is ook die jongste persoon in Mpumalanga met dié kwalifikasie.
Chess Arbitrators Course. Otto van Schalkwyk, a Grade 11 learner from Ermelo High School, took a Chess Arbitrators course in October. Otto has now been given the title of “Tournament Supervisor”.
This is a nationally recognized qualification issued by CHESSA (Chess South Africa). Otto was therefore allowed to act as referee during National chess tournaments. He is also the youngest person in Mpumalanga with this qualification.
