Schools That Rock chat to Sibo Mdawe

Schools That Rock asked a few questions to Sibo Mdawe , Head Boy of Treverton College, Mooiriver, KZN.

Question: What do you look forward to most when the 2021 school year starts? Honestly, I look forward to seeing my friends after a very long two months of being apart, but also I want to see the new pupils enter a new school, look at them and remember how 4 years ago I too was in their shoes joining Treverton for the first time.

Question: Are there any changes or adjustments you would like to see happen at Treverton College? I’d love to see different grades interacting with each other and if needed be for me to be the bridge. I’d also like to see people feeling more at home while they’re at school. I want the students to be willing to call Treverton a second home.

Question: If you had to make a statement to convince someone that your school is the right choice, what would that statement be? Treverton is different from other schools. It’s not only the location or the unthinkable activities or the adventure you go through whilst attending the school. For me, it’s the people. Trevertonians just have a different “vibe” as some students say, for me, Treverton is a unique school… I definitely wouldn’t throw the opportunity to join away.

Question:  Who would you consider to be your role model at your school? Mr Broom, Mr Purdon, Mr Robertson and Mr Balie and lastly, if I can add, Mr Madubeko.

Question: Which sport activity offered at your school is your favourite? Basketball

Question:  What is your favourite meal? Breakfast – chicken nuggets, Lunch – chicken burgers and chips and Dinner – N/A I hate veggies.

Question: Which career choices are you considering after school? A surgeon or paediatric surgeon. If that fails, a charter accountant or Pilot.

Question: Which university do you want to attend next year? Wits, or UCT or UCL or King’s College London.

Question: Do you have a message for your fellow pupils for 2021? I can’t think of anything at the moment… still trying to see where people need to be motivated.
