Schools Cricket. Creston College Cricket teams competed against Kokstad Junior School in Schools Cricket. In the Under 11A match, Creston bowled first and limited Kokstad Junior to 87-7 in their 20 overs. Notably, Oliver Smith shone with the ball, taking 3 wickets while conceding only 6 runs in his 4 overs. Creston chased down the target comfortably, reaching it in the 12th over with the loss of just one wicket. Kleyen Buchaya and Khulu Mlondo led the batting, scoring 36* and 29* respectively. Creston also secured a convincing 9-wicket victory.
Creston’s Under 13A team faced off against Kokstad, securing a 35-run win with Hlela Mdaka and Phiwokuhle Bhengu remaining not out. Daniel Davies contributed 22 runs and achieved a hattrick in the bowling department, while Ronan Rogers added 27 runs and took 1 wicket.
Six-a-Side Tournament: In this tournament, Creston had an eventful day. They narrowly lost to Margate in the first game by a margin of just 3 runs. However, they bounced back impressively, defeating Suid-Natal by a commanding 27-run margin. Although they narrowly missed out on the final, Ronan Rogers received the honour of being named the bowler of the tournament.
Cricket versus Izotsha: The Under 11A batted first and were bowled out for 97 runs. In reply Izotsha ended on 83-7 in their 20 overs with Oliver Smith being the pick of the bowlers taking 2 crucial wickets upfront. Creston won by 14 runs. The Under 11B team batted first and made 32 runs for 5 wickets in their 15 overs. Izotsha replied with a score of 32/6. Creston lost by 4 wickets. The Under 13A and B team games were rained out.
