School Boy Golf. St Andrew’s Golf Teams Crowned Mangaung League Champions.
The 2025/26 season has once again ended on a triumphant note for St Andrew’s Golf, with both the 1st and 2nd Teams claiming victory in their respective A- and B-divisions of the Mangaung Schools Golf League.
After nine rounds of league play, culminating in the finals on 26 May, both teams lifted the league trophies and were crowned champions.
Individual Achievements
- Xander Thompson broke ’s long-standing league gross scoring average record, while also finishing top of the Individual Order of Merit across all players.
- In 2nd place on the Individual Order of Merit was fellow St Andrew’s matriculant Zinan Maimane, who impressed with a consistent level-par scoring average.
2nd Team – B Division Champions
Entering the finals in 3rd position, the 2nd Team delivered a dominant performance, raking in 12.5 points to surpass Grey College and Sentraal, securing the B-division trophy.
1st Team – A Division Champions
The 1st Team, already leading the Order of Merit, held their ground despite a scratchy final round. With Sentraal and Grey College too far behind to catch up, St Andrew’s comfortably claimed the A-division league title.
Derby Highlights
- Drew 2–2 vs St John’s in Match Play
- Defeated Cornwall 4–0 in Match Play during Term 2
