SA U17 EPD Squad. Rondebosch Boys’ High School is proud to announce that two of their rising rugby talents, Caleb Bell (Grade 11) and Shellvon Mabooi (Grade 10), have been selected to join the prestigious SA U17 EPD Squad (South African Rugby U17 Elite Player Development (EPD) Squad).
This achievement highlights not only their individual skill and dedication to the sport. It also highlights the strength of the rugby program at Rondebosch. The EPD Squad is a national initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing promising young players. It is also preparing them for future success at the provincial and national levels.
Upcoming Camp
- Dates: November 29 – December 6, 2025
- Venue: Boland Landbou, Paarl, Western Cape
- Focus: Advanced training, tactical development, as well as exposure to elite coaching structures
Significance of Selection
- National recognition. Being chosen for the EPD Squad places Caleb and Shellvon among the top U17 rugby prospects in South Africa.
- Development opportunity. The camp will provide them with access to specialized coaching, fitness programs, and mentorship from experienced professionals.
- School pride. Their achievement reflects the hard work of the coaching staff. It also supports their teammates, and the commitment of the broader Rondebosch rugby community.
