SA Rowing Championships. More than medals at SA Rowing Champs.
The South African Schools Rowing Championships in March 2026 marked a proud milestone for St Stithians Girls’ College Rowing, with exceptional performances across age groups and boat classes.
Our U16 and Open crews delivered consistently strong racing, reaching A finals in every category entered. Highlights included silver medals for both the U16 and U19 pairs, and a bronze medal for the Open coxed four in a fiercely competitive field.
The standout achievement came from our U15 squad, who claimed gold, silver, and bronze across the octuple, quad, and scull events. The U15 A octuple produced a phenomenal race to secure gold and set a new championship record — a first for Saints in this boat class.
These results also brought national recognition:
- Bella Landman, Danika du Plessis, and Annabelle Logan were selected for the U16 National Development Squad.
- Ntsako Shipalana and Kenya Simpson earned places in the U19 High Performance Team.
“This success is a fitting reward for a season defined by commitment, teamwork, and belief.” Ms. K. Christowitz (Director of Rowing).
