SA Junior Chess Championships – At Trio High School, they celebrate not only athletic achievements on the field but also victories of the mind. Recently, one of their learners, Mosa Mokalobe took part in the SA Junior Closed Chess Championships. Mosa proudly represented the Lejweleputswa district at the SA Junior Closed Chess Championships. It was held from 28 March to 2 April.
This prestigious tournament brought together some of the brightest young chess talents from across the country. Mosa’s participation is a testament to her dedication, discipline, and sharp strategic thinking. Chess is more than just a game; it is a mental sport that teaches patience, foresight, and resilience. As Blaise Pascal once said, “Chess is the gymnasium of the mind.”
At Trio, they are immensely proud of Mosa’s achievement. Her success reminds everyone that excellence comes in many forms. It can come through sport, academics, or the arts, and every learner has the potential to shine.
Chess continues to grow in popularity among students, offering a space where learners can challenge themselves. It builds confidence and develops critical-thinking skills that extend far beyond the chessboard.
Congratulations, Mosa! You inspire Trio High School to think a few moves ahead.
