President Freedom Paddle. Holly Smith, Grade 12 student from Camps Bay High School, Ryley Smith (Gr 10) and Jared Shrimpton (Gr 10) excelled at the President Freedom Paddle. They secured first places in the U18 Men’s and Women’s Doubles Races.
Grade 10 students Jared Shrimpton and Ryley Smith clinched first place in the U18 Men’s Doubles category, despite it being their first time tackling the challenging 27km surf ski race. Their impressive performance also earned them 7th place overall, with the second U18 Men’s Double Team finishing significantly behind.
In the U18 Women’s Doubles category, Camps Bay High School’s Holly Smith and her partner Georgia Singe from Fish Hoek High School took the top spot. Holly, and Georgia, the Junior Women’s K2 Marathon World Champions, showcased their skill and determination, finishing 4th in the Senior Ladies category and 27th overall.
“We are incredibly proud of Jared, Ryley and Holly for their outstanding achievements,” said Busi Ngcwama, Head of Sport at Camps Bay High School. “Their dedication, skill, and teamwork have brought great honour to our school.”
