Today marks 100 years for our beloved Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School. In 1920 the doors of a building, that looked very different to the one now, welcomed young women. We look back and are thankful but more importantly we look forward in hope. We are hopeful that for the next 100 years GHS can be at the forefront of education in the 21st Century.
“To be part of a school like this is a privilege, a privilege not to be taken lightly but to be accepted with all its attendant responsibilities…Let there be on each of you a hall-mark which will show that we have succeeded in carrying out the truest aim of education – the development of a full and rich personality.” – Miss Eve Grundy
