The Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School Choir participated in the final round of the national ATKV Applous Choir Competition, placing fourth in their category and achieving gold with 83%.
This annual competition is for junior and high school choirs and takes place in cities across South Africa and even Namibia.
Choirs who perform the best in their categories during the regional rounds of the competition get invited to take part in the final round.
The GHS Choir was one of the top five choirs in the Merit category for girls choirs who made it through to the final round that took place on Friday, 26 July, at the prestigious Sand du Plessis theater in Bloemfontein.
