Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School donates over 25 tons of recycling to WILDLANDS. Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School is a committed member of the WILDLANDS Recycling for Life initiative. Learners and staff at GHS collect recyclable materials from their homes and bring it to the recycling village at school. Internal competitions are held by the GHS Recycling Society for the class that collects the most materials each term.
In 2017, Wildlands, with support from Nedbank and South32 collected 929 875 kg’s of recycling from 123 schools in Wildlands’ Sustainable Schools Network.
GHS collected 15 386kgs of recyclable materials this past year for the programme.
