PEA Winter Gala. The PEA Winter Gala was held from 15 to 18 June. Eleven swimmers from Pearson High School, Gqeberha, participated at the PEA Winter Gala and also had the opportunity to see Olympians Tatjana Smith, Erin Gallagher and Kaylene Corbett, Pearson’s past pupil, in action.
The Pearson swimmers’ individual results:
13 – 14 year age group:
- Kayden O’Connor swam in 3 finals
- Isabel Kuhn swam in 4 finals, finishing second in 100m backstroke and third in 50m backstroke
- Mikayla Frösler swam in 6 finals, finishing 2nd in 50m backstroke, and 3rd in 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and also 400IM.
- Zethan Basson swam in 2 finals
- Jett Heine swam in 7 finals, finishing 3rd in the 50m butterfly as well as 100m freestyle
- Nicholas Pretorius swam in 8 finals, finishing 1st in the 50m backstroke, butterfly and freestyle, 1st in the 100m butterfly and freestyle, 1st in the 200m freestyle as well as
- 2nd in the 200m backstroke.
In the 15 – 16 year age group:
- Chloe Jewell swam in 2 finals
- Keira van Heerden swam in 8 finals, finishing 1st in the 50m and 200m breaststroke, 2nd in the 50m backstroke, butterfly and freestyle, 2nd in the 100m breaststroke, as well as 3rd in the 100m butterfly and freestyle.
- Munguni Hlangothi swam in 4 finals.
- Chloe Jewell swam in 3 finals, finishing 3rd in the 50m backstroke.
In the 17 and above age group:
- Kiara Croft swam in 10 finals, finishing 2nd in the 200m butterfly, 400m and 1500m freestyle and 400IM, and 3rd in the 200m and 800m freestyle.
