Old Boys Reunion Weekend. Kearsney travelled to play a spirited Maritzburg College 1st XI Hockey on their Old Boys Reunion Weekend. This was going to be a match where either team needed to score in quick succession to assert their dominance in the game.
After a number of matches this season, both teams would have had a fairly good idea of how the other team played. Two unforced Kearsney errors saw them go two goals down in the first 30 minutes, with the visitors able to bounce back just before half-time, to make the score 2-1 at the break.
