Nika Coertzen Hockey Festival. St Stithians girls’ prep hockey stars shine at Nika Coertzen Hockey Festival.
What an incredible weekend it was for our Grade 6A and Grade 7A Girls’ Prep hockey teams at the Nika Coertzen Hockey Festival—our exciting debut at this prestigious event!
💪 Grade 7A Girls Take on the Nation’s Best. It was a fiercely competitive tournament featuring 18 top schools from across South Africa. The Grade 7A team showcased remarkable resilience and teamwork. Their unwavering spirit and relentless play earned them a proud mid-table finish. It was also an impressive feat against such elite opposition and a reflection of their growing talent and grit.
🏑 Grade 6A Girls Reign Supreme. Meanwhile, our Grade 6A team dominated their round-robin section, going head-to-head with eight schools from the Free State and Gauteng. Their focused gameplay and powerful collaboration saw them emerge as section champions, also collecting the highest number of points. What a phenomenal achievement!
🔥 Heart, Hustle, and Last-Minute Magic Throughout the festival, both teams embodied true sporting excellence—fighting for every ball, displaying grit in the toughest moments, and even clinching key goals in the dying seconds. Yet beyond the scoreboard, our girls learned powerful lessons in perseverance, teamwork, and self-belief.
🎉 A Celebration of Character and Sportsmanship Huge congratulations to every player who represented St Stithians with pride, integrity, and unstoppable energy. Your growth on and off the field has made the entire school community beam with pride!
