This year, it is a privilege to welcome some of South Africa’s finest talents and the heart of Grey College on stage. They are one of the teachers, Herman Naudé, and Old Grey, along with Tasché Burger and Riaan Benadé. This year’s theme, Grey’t Dreams, honours the aspirations and achievements of our vibrant community.
Corlea Botha
Naudé is also well-known amongst the learners for his guiding voice during assemblies in the Reunie Hall. He conducts the school’s mass choir as well as Indomitus, and is part of the group Take Note, which is well-loved in Bloemfontein. Naudé had the privilege of performing on stage with Corlea Botha and Caroline Grace. Back in his varsity days, in 2010, he claimed the Kovsie Idol title.
Moses is a young musician and music producer. He has a dream of inspiring others through music production and writing, as well as performing in collaboration with other musicians. A young talent with promising prospects in the music industry.
Burger is the winner of the third season of the TV music reality series The Voice SA. She will share her talent and keep the audience in awe with her warm vocals and dynamic live performances.
Riaan Benadé
Benadé, singer-songwriter and musician, is famous for his songs that are characterised by emotional depth and relatable lyrics. In 2023, he became the first South African artist to be approached by Spotify itself to release an exclusive Spotify single.
Music continues to be a powerful medium through which Grey creates lasting memories and shares meaningful messages. This year, they aim to highlight the importance of financial Literacy as well as the value of money as a tool that, when guided by trusted experts who prioritise your interests, can be used to build a better future. The Grey College Music Festival is more than just a celebration of musical talent. It is a platform for meaningful dialogue and community upliftment.
