Mathematical Magic – Kearsney College

Highlighting Kearsney’s commitment to mathematical excellence, its boys shone again in the second round of the St Mary’s Mathematics Competition which involved eight KwaZulu-Natal schools.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for the province’s maths students to tackle challenging problems, sharpen their problem-solving skills and collaborate with pupils from other schools.

The competition format required each Kearsney pair to team up with a partner from a girls’ school, fostering teamwork and strategic thinking.

Kearsney’s mathematicians shone in the junior category, with Thomas Schultze and Shavanth Chelladu placing first, Thomas Schultze and Shavanth Chelladusecond, and Sebastian Sansbury and Darshan Pillay third.

Kearsney achieved the prize for the school with the greatest number of participants over the two rounds.
