Luchelle Oosthuizen. Luchelle Oosthuizen was recently honoured with a Free State Sports Award as well as a Board Medal for her achievements in swimming.

- What is your nickname? Lullu
- When you’re not swimming, what do you like to do? I like to jet ski as an escape and to catch-up on lost sleep.
- Which primary school did you attend? Oranje Meisieskool
- At what age did you start with your sport? I had my first lesson when I was 9 months old, but I only started swimming at the age of 9.
- Your highest achievement thus far? Second place at the SA Short Course and I was selected for the SA Team to compete in Malawi.
- Your biggest dream or ideal? To reach my full potential in the sport that I love.
- What do you plan or think you want to do after Grade 12? Study at the University of the Free State and continue swimming.
- Something nobody knows about you? I love cooking and a fun fact is that I have two different coloured eyes.
- Favourite series or book currently? Friends
- If you could have one superpower… Invisibility
- Favourite holiday destination? Melkbosstrand
- Message to a 9-year-old dreaming of becoming a sport star? Just enjoy what you’re doing and find the love for the sport. The rest will come later with hard work and determination.
- Your favourite teacher and subject? Mr Van Rensburg. Even though we don’t see eye to eye sometimes. We have had a long journey together. My favourite subject is Biology.
- Your motto in life or biggest inspiration? HARD WORK PAYS OFF.
- How do you find balance in your life? When it’s time to rest, I rest and when it’s time to work, I work.
