Lifesaving Championships. Holly (Gr 11) and Ryley (Gr 9) Smith both went home with a bounty of medals at the recently held WP Lifesaving Championships.
Competing in the u17 and open ladies, Holly went home with the following medals:
- Silver for run swim run
- Silver for Junior Board
- Silver for Junior Surfs
- Silver for Ironman
- Silver for Senior Double Ski
- Bronze for Junior swim
- Bronze for Junior taplin relay
- Bronze for Senior taplin relay
- Bronze for Senior board
- Bronze for Senior surfski
- Bronze for Junior surfski relay
- Bronze for Senior surfski relay
- Bronze for board relay junior
- Bronze for senior board relay
Congratulations to Holly Smith who has been selected to represent the Western Cape Lifesaving at the Inter-Provincial Championships to be held in Durban in May. Holly is one of only 5 junior girls to make it on to the Western Cape Lifesaving Team
Not to be outdone, Ryley also went home with a large haul of medals! Competed in u15 for individual events and in the u19 age group for team events. He also went home with:
- Gold medal for Iron
- Gold medal for ski
- Gold medal for board
- Gold medal for swim
- Gold medal for run swim run
- Gold medal for taplin relay
In addition to Ryley was awarded the Victor Ludorum for the event.
A number of Camps Bay High School learners recently competed at the WP Lifesaving Champs held at the Strand. Well done to the Lifesavers who have been selected to represent their respective clubs at Provincial Championships which takes place in Gqbertha next week.
